DDO or What?

    "DDO or What? "

    Looks like an "Or What."

    Extreme strike doubling.

    Look at the flat 'shelf like' appearance to the second image.

    Cheryl,

    Sorry but it is extreme Die Deterioration doubling! It almost identical to the Die Deterioration doubling found on many Jefferson Nickels...especially the 1999-P Nickel and also on many Quarters. The composition of the Nickel and Quarter Planchets and the 500 Pesos Planchets probably have something to do with the extreme spread seen on the coins with this type of doubling!

    Cheryl,

    Yes, that is actually what I am talking about! However, the author did not really go into the effect that the Die Deterioration doubling has on these coins due to their' compositions. They seem to be affected much more from this type of doubling than coins of other compositions.
